CONTEXT

Fictional project ran in the frame of my master degree.

Assignment:

"Today, special diets are a part of daily life. However, living with a specific diet is not always easy. You will analyze the different challenges, use UX Design tools and methods to develop solutions, and imagine an adapted service."

From this brief we were to come up with an idea of an app to design.

For this assignment, I chose to address the challenges of accommodating special diets when selecting a restaurant that suits everyone in a group.

Branding & creation of a UI Kit

Once the idea and solution to the issue were defined, I established the app's brand identity.

Grubound, an evocative brand name

Grunbound is a blend of "grub" and "bound," reflecting the app's purpose of bringing people—friends and family—together around food, no matter the circumstances.

A friendly brand identity

The branding choices were designed to convey a joyful sense of community, using warm colors, bold typefaces, and playful graphics like swirls to symbolize connection and togetherness.

These choices were incorporated into the UI kit, which served as the foundation of the design system.

The Prototype

The solution relies on two main flows: onboarding and restaurant selection.

OnBoarding flow

The onboarding flow is crucial to the app's functionality, as it guides users to provide information that enables the app to offer relevant suggestions.

Restaurant picking flow

Once the user has set their diet preferences and created a group - group of people to eat with -, restaurants are listed based on each member’s food preferences. The user is then invited to vote for their favorite restaurant from the list or save some as favorites to make a preselection if unsure.
